Joining a New Job Muhurat 2026 नई नौकरी
This is the occasion where honesty forces a different shape of page. Almost nobody chooses their joining date — HR does, and it is usually the first working day of a month. So the useful classical question is not "which day should I join" but "given the day I have been handed, which hour should I walk in, and which of the two or three dates on offer is the better one". The rules themselves are light: swift and soft nakshatras (Ashwini, Pushya, Hasta, Mrigashira, Chitra, Anuradha, Revati), Wednesday for Mercury's dealings with colleagues and paperwork, Thursday for Jupiter's patronage, and Rikta tithis avoided as they are for every beginning.
Where the date is genuinely fixed, the lever that remains is the hour, and it is not a small one. Reporting inside the Abhijit muhurat — the eighth part of the day, straddling local noon — or inside a Labh or Amrit Choghadiya, and staying clear of that day's Rahu Kaal, is the standard advice and costs nothing to follow. The same applies to signing the offer letter, which is a separate act you usually do control and which can be placed on a far better day than the joining itself.

These are panchang-shortlisted dates, not a personal verdict. Each date below clears the classical tithi, vara, nakshatra, yoga and karana tests for this occasion, computed with a Lahiri sidereal ephemeris at New Delhi sunrise. The lagna rising at the hour you actually choose, your own birth chart (Chandra bala, running dasha, any dosha) and the day’s Rahu Kaal are NOT checked here — that layer only exists once a date is run against a real chart on the muhurat finder or with Soma.

Frequently asked questions
My joining date is fixed by the employer. Is this page useless to me?
No — it changes what you use it for. Two things stay in your hands: the hour you first report, and the day you sign and return the offer. Place the signature on a listed day, report inside Abhijit or a Labh Choghadiya, and avoid the day's Rahu Kaal for both. That is the whole of what classical practice would ask of you when the date is imposed.
Is Saturday really a bad day to start a job?
It loses points rather than being barred. Saturn governs service, labour and long endurance, which is not obviously wrong for employment — the objection is to beginnings under Saturn, since he slows what he touches at the start. Many people join on a Monday for administrative reasons, and Monday scores well here for its own reasons.
Does the muhurat matter more than the running dasha?
No, and this is worth saying plainly. A well-timed joining inside a hostile dasha will not rescue the role, and a poorly timed one inside a supportive dasha rarely damages it. Muhurat is the smaller lever. Its honest use is to avoid actively bad moments, not to manufacture outcomes.

How these joining a new job dates were computed
Tithi, nakshatra, yoga and karana are read at sunrise in New Delhi from a Lahiri sidereal ephemeris; the Sun's sidereal sign drives the solar-month exclusions and the Sun–Venus and Sun–Jupiter separations drive the asta (combustion) bars.
The tests are Joining a New Job's own, listed in full on the Joining a New Job hub: 8 of the twenty-seven nakshatras carry its star bonus, 8 of the fifteen tithis its tithi bonus, and 4 weekday lords its weekday bonus. A waxing-fortnight day scores one point more. Across 2026's 365 sunrises those three were met on 107, 195 and 209 days, and 53 days cleared every bar and still scored 6 or better. Beyond the bars every act on this site carries, joining a new job adds no exclusion of its own, so what thins its list is the scoring rather than a season.
