Privacy at SubhMuhurat
Effective 30 July 2026. This policy covers shubhmuhurat.ai and the signed-in features on it. It is written to be read, so the parts that usually hide in a schedule — who the controller actually is, and what "delete my data" actually deletes — are the first two sections.
1. Who is responsible for your data
SubhMuhurat is a brand operated by AskSoma (founded by Savan Vyas). AskSoma is the data controller for everything described here and is the party you exercise your data-protection rights against. We name it plainly because naming the controller is a legal requirement and not a branding decision: a brand name on the door does not create a separate company behind it, and a policy that implied otherwise would tell you to send a legal request to an entity that cannot answer it. You can reach the controller at support@asksoma.ai.
Sites are operated as a family under one controller. That means one account can work across more than one of them, and it also means the rights in section 6 are exercised against the controller rather than against a single site. What it does not mean is that the sites see each other's data: what you do on SubhMuhurat is held as SubhMuhurat's own partition, and section 5 is the specific promise about that.
2. Reading these pages is anonymous
The published pages on shubhmuhurat.ai — the tables, the guides, the city pages — are static documents. As built at the effective date of this policy they ship no JavaScript, set no cookies, load no third-party scripts, embed no tracking pixels and send no analytics request, which is why you are not asked to consent to anything on them. Your browser fetches a file and our host records the request in an ordinary short-lived server log, which is the same thing that happens when you fetch any file on the internet. We describe this because it is how the site is built rather than as a permanent guarantee: if we ever add anything to these pages that collects data, we will update this section and the effective date above before doing so.
What you do hand over by simply browsing is choosing an occasion, a year or a city from the published list — all of which are part of the URL you requested, not information you typed. We do not build a profile from it.
3. What we collect when you sign in
The signed-in surface exists for running the finder against a date range you choose, saving a shortlisted window to a calendar, and asking questions about a window in the chat. To do that it holds your email address, the occasion and date range you searched, and the city you searched from, the credit balance for this site, a record of what you spent credits on, and the messages in your chat. If you buy credits, your card details go directly to our payment provider, which returns only a payment reference, an amount and a status; card numbers do not reach us and we do not store them.
The published date tables are computed without any chart at all — they rank days on the classical panchang tests and nothing else. When you use the signed-in finder you may give a birth date to get a chart-aware reading; if you never do, no birth data exists here to store.
Retention. A window you save to your calendar is kept until you remove it or delete your data on this site. Searches are kept only as counted usage — the occasion and the date range, so the finder can bill credits and so the site can see which occasions are asked for — and chat messages are kept so the conversation has a history. Records we are required to keep — payment and tax records in particular — are kept for the period the law sets, whatever else you delete.
4. Why we are allowed to process it
Running the account, the wallet and the chat you asked for is performance of a contract. Keeping the service standing up — rate limits, abuse detection, fraud signals — is our legitimate interest, and section 5 explains why one narrow part of that survives deletion. Sending you email you asked for is consent, withdrawable at any time and per site. Keeping payment records is a legal obligation.
5. Deleting your data — two different things, deliberately
There are two erasure paths and they are not the same size. The difference matters, so here it is in full rather than as a link.
Deleting your SubhMuhurat data
Inside the site, "delete my data on this site" is scoped to SubhMuhurat. It removes your membership of this site, your credit wallet for it, your chat history and persona memory here, any entitlement you hold here, your notification preferences here, and it pseudonymises the usage records this site generated. When it finishes, SubhMuhurat holds nothing about you. This is the button most people want, and it is the default.
Before you press it: deleting the wallet deletes any credits still in it, including credits you paid for, and those are not refunded — see section 5 of the Terms. Spend them first if you want the value of them.
Deleting your account entirely
Because AskSoma is the controller, the data-protection right of erasure runs against AskSoma and therefore covers your whole account across every site in the family. That path still exists and cannot be removed by us — it is your right, not our feature. Ask for it at support@asksoma.ai and say you want your account erased.
What a SubhMuhurat-only deletion leaves standing
Say it plainly rather than let you discover it: deleting your SubhMuhurat data does not delete your sign-in account itself, does not touch your data on any other site in the family, does not remove your address from the do-not-email list (see section 7 — removing it would make us email you again, which is the opposite of what that list is for), and does not erase fraud and abuse signals tied to the account. That last one is deliberate and is our legitimate interest: an abuse record that any user could clear on request would not be an abuse record. Use the account-erasure path above if you want everything gone.
6. Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your data, correction of it, erasure of it, restriction of or objection to processing, and portability of it; and you can withdraw consent for email at any time. Requests that concern your whole account — access requests and portability in particular — are handled by the controller at support@asksoma.ai, because your account is the thing they are about. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to complain to your local data-protection supervisory authority, and you can do that instead of, or as well as, writing to us.
7. Email and notifications are per site
Your email and notification preferences for SubhMuhurat belong to SubhMuhurat. Turning them off here does not turn off anything on another site in the family, and turning them on elsewhere does not turn them on here — each site's unsubscribe link only ever changes that site's setting, which is why the link in a SubhMuhurat email is specific to SubhMuhurat. AskSoma does not send you its own marketing because you used SubhMuhurat.
One exception, and it is a technical one: if you report an email as spam or your address hard-bounces, your address goes on a single do-not-email list that applies everywhere at once. That is a deliverability requirement rather than a preference — an address that has complained must stop receiving mail immediately and completely, and a per-site version of that list would leak mail through the gaps.
8. Who else sees it
Our infrastructure, payment, email and AI providers process data on our instructions under contract, only as needed to run the features above. We do not sell personal data and we do not share it for advertising. Some providers are outside your country, and those transfers rely on the standard safeguards the law provides for them.
9. Children
SubhMuhurat is not intended for anyone under 16, or under the age of digital consent where you live if that age is higher, and we do not knowingly collect their data. If you believe someone below that age has given us data, write to support@asksoma.ai and we will delete it.
10. Changes
If this policy changes materially we will change the effective date at the top and, where the change affects you, tell signed-in users. The date at the top moves only when the text moves — it is not a build timestamp.
